Shop-Vac 971-03-00 All-Around Wet/Dry Vacuum 2-Gallon, 3-HP

I bought this little wonder to clean up during & after glass etching in a basement as well as keep down pet hair & cat litter in the kitchen. I needed something I could rely on that wasn't going to be "forgiving" with stray, loose & potentially dangerous/painful debris but I didn't want it to need a lot of space to live in and it couldn't be over $60. (It was $49.99 when I bought it).

It's been amazing & I've had it for years & used it as a wet vac, too when my studio apartment flooded (my fault, lol).

The canister is big enough not to have to empty for a few months (I use it every day) & by the time you do, it doesn't weigh a million pounds & cleaning it out, say with some OxyClean, it's small enough to do in the tub. And yes, I've used the body/bottom part of it as a wheeled bucket before, too; which also makes it light enough to pick up if you have to stand on a chair to hit the ceiling fan blades or curtains with the detail brushes included.

Perhaps most worth noting is the motor- 7.0 amps/3 HP is wicked effective, and with the brushes, it takes cat hair off of velvet bedskirts without the fear you're going to damage them.

Honestly, I'd been using it like a shop vac without a bag in it & the filter came loose & burnt out the motor. BTW, I'm reviewing it here because at the time of this review, this merchant has the lowest total price.

If you're thinking about it, I think you'll be happy with your purchase. That's why I'm getting a second one.
